Starting the idea of Homeschool

Assalamualaikum and good day..

My homeschooling project has started months ago. Even though not everyday was filled with new activities, but my brain keep on scheming for the next, and next, and next activities.. So homeschooling is a tough job, I see. Obviously it isn't just teach your children, but teach yourself too to become more creative, and the most important, discipline, as to make sure you are consistent to get things successful.

Being parents is easier now, in this IT era. Everything is just on your fingertips. You don't have to think hard or smart, because there are lots of ideas came from other parents on almost every aspect of their children. All you have to know is read, and press the keywords to search in Google. But you can always come up with new ideas, and it is good to create something new, not just helping the other parents, but to get Allah's reward too ;). To blog it is not to show off, of course, but it is an effective journal to track the progress of your little ones, besides you can share your ideas with the other mums.

So what had I done with my early homeschool project?

1. Searching for resource. So far my main resource is
 - Youtube: Videos from Jady A. She has lots of Montessori activities done with her daughter, and her daughter can read at 1 years ++ months:)

This blog (belongs to Kak Aishah) is really good, Masha Allah. I learn how to help my lil daughter to memorize the Quran.

Look at how this mother, Kak Mahani set up her homeschool space. It's really amazing and inspiring.

Reading about Montessori is great, but I think mostly the activities are for >3 years old. But if you know the pattern of Montessori technique, you can develop your own activity, like what Jady A. did. Basically, in Montessori technique, children learn through the experience.
- and I bought two books on Boxing Day last year, which are
 and

Still, I have plenty  to study and materials to get from the internet. Alhamdulillah, it is easy peasy as we live in a high speed connection country :)

The activities that went well with my 1 year 11 month Muna:
1. Playing bubbles (her fav.) and pouring water from a container to another container.
2. Play dough (but I need to do it with her, as she just know how to cut it using table knife)
3. Spooning. She can now eat cereals by herself.
4. Number matching. She knows how to match a number, with another similar number. Oh sorry I don't have the picture now, but I got it from totschooling.com where you can download for free.
5. Reading story books and singing.

Not much... some activities that I had planned did not go well with her maybe they dont match with her age yet, like sorting activity.

I do feel miserable if I have not get any activities for her, but I shouldn't, should I? Because she always learning while playing. That's how they learn.

I hope to write again really soon for another new bits about my project, INSYA ALLAH.

Wasalam.
